How to Make a Perfect Espresso and Create the Unique Hotpresso Coffee Drink

Want to impress your friends with a creative coffee cocktail? This exciting beverage combines the intensity of espresso with a touch of Tabasco, blended with luscious chocolate and topped with fluffy whipped cream for an unforgettable flavor adventure!

How to Make Espresso with Rancilio Silvia or SMEG Espresso Machine

Using the Rancilio Silvia:

  1. Fill the water tank and turn on the machine to preheat.
  2. Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine consistency.
  3. Dose about 18-20 grams of coffee into the portafilter, tamp evenly.
  4. Lock the portafilter into the brew head.
  5. Place your cup underneath and turn on the pump to extract 45 ml of espressoβ€”aim for a rich, crema-topped shot.

Using the SMEG Espresso Machine:

  1. Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
  2. Fill the water reservoir.
  3. Grind fresh coffee beans finely and pack about 18-20 grams into the brew basket.
  4. Insert the basket and secure it.
  5. Place a cup beneath the spout and press the brew button to pull a 45 ml shot of espresso with a smooth, velvety crema.

Crafting the Hotpresso

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml espresso (prepared using your machine)
  • 500 ml whipping cream
  • 80 ml chocolate syrup
  • 10 ml chocolate sauce
  • 1 drop of Tabasco
  • Cocoa powder, for garnish
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

  1. Pour the whipping cream and chocolate syrup into a whipped cream maker.
  2. Screw on the lid tightly, shake well, then insert a cartridge.
  3. Shake vigorously 8-10 times and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. In a small glass, spread the chocolate sauce to cover the bottom and add a drop of Tabasco on top.
  5. Pour in the freshly brewed espresso.
  6. Use the whipped cream maker to top your espresso with rich, chocolate-infused whipped cream.
  7. Garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder and enjoy this bold, flavorful coffee adventure!
