Le Creuset Stainless Steel Pans are constructed from premium materials that are designed for high performance. Be sure to use special care to ensure the pan lasts a long time in your kitchen.
Before First Use
Remove all labels from the product. Wash the pan with hot water and dish soap, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
Heat Sources
It is essential to never use high heat while cooking. For the best results, we recommend low to medium heat. Be sure the base of the pan matches the diameter of the heat source to prevent damage. Gas flames should never exceed the diameter of the pan as well. Use low to medium heat when cooking, including frying and sauteing. The pan should never be on the maximum high heat setting.
Oils and Fats
Add little to no fat before you begin heating the pan. The oil should never begin smoking. If smoking occurs, remove the pan from the heat, clean, and restart the heating process. We recommend using a high heat oil when cooking.
Cooking Utensils
Never use sharp objects while cooking. We recommend using Le Creuset silicone tools, wooden, or heat resistant plastic tools. Metal tools, spoons, or balloon whisks may be used with care, but use caution and never scrape on the nonstick surface. Never use a knife to cut food inside the pan.
Oven Use
Le Creuset Stainless Steel is able to cook in oven temperatures up to 500 degrees F/260 degrees C. You may use Stainless Steel pans under the broil setting, but at a minimum distance of 2.5 inches. Matching glass lids can cook in temperatures up to 425 degrees F/220 degrees C. Do not exceed these temperatures or this will cause significant damage.
Handles
The handles are secured using stainless steel rivets. The handles become will become hot in excessive temperatures. Use caution while handling a hot pan. A dry oven mitt, towel, or hot pads should be used to protect your hands.
Cleaning and Storage
Never clean the pan while it is hot. Placing a hot pan under cold water can cause damage. Wait a few minutes afterwards for the pan to dry. Use hot soapy water and a soft sponge to clean. Never use metal, harsh or abrasive sponges/pads as they can scratch the surface of the pan. Le Creuset Stainless Steel pans can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but we recommend washing the pans by hand to ensure the quality and lifetime of the pan. Thoroughly dry the pan after washing and store it in a dry, temperature controlled place before the next use. If you are stacking the pans, use towels between each pan to prevent scratches from occurring.
For cleaning Le Creuset Glass Lids, never place a hot lid into cold water. Wait a few minutes for the lid to cool down before washing. The lids are dishwasher safe, but J.L. Hufford highly recommends hand washing to prolong the lifetime.
