Paring knives are an essential part of any kitchen set, handling everyday tasks like peeling, mincing, and coring. The Kuhn Rikon 4" Paring Knife excels in its field. Its synthetic handle is textured for a secure and comfortable grip. Crafted in Switzerland, this Japanese steel blade is rigid and durable. The slim blade tapers to a fine point, making trimming and peeling small produce a cinch. Experience the difference the Kuhn Rikon 4" Paring Knife can make today. quite sharp and fits hand - wonderful price. Altho it was impossible to get it out of sealed plastic box—I had to use a hammer to smash it out
I wasn't expecting much from this knife, but it's fantastic! Customer support was great as well!
I generally like shorter, flexible blades and narrow handles for intricate knife work. This Kuhn Rikon knife is a bit longer, stiffer and wider, yet I have still really come to like it, especially for cutting slightly harder items. The handle has an accentuated hourglass cross-section, and I was skeptical of the shape at first, but love the different comfortable finger positions it allows. My only issue with it is a manufacturing one: where the top of the blade meets the handle, there is a small, sharp plastic nub, presumably where it was not filed down properly when the parts were joined. In certain hand positions, it can poke into your fingers, and that's just not desirable. I've tried to file it down myself, to some success, but it should never be an issue with this sort of knife. It may be a one-off problem with my knife, but I doubt it. With that one reservation, I love it as a part of my everyday-use collection.
It's a very nice, sharp, and comfortable paring knife. It's a lot like my favorite Victorniox paring knives, but a tad longer. The handle also had that dimple groove that adds a bit to the handling. Nice knife!
