Durable, Stainless Steel Construction
The DeLonghi EC702 Espresso Machine sets itself apart from most compact semi-automatics in that it is housed primarily inside a corrosion-resistant stainless steel body. Already at the top of its class on the inside, the steel body ensures that the EC702 will stand the test of time on the outside as well. There is always going to be some plastic with an espresso machine, but the DeLonghi EC702 has the most stainless steel in its class. The height has also been reduced to accommodate a convenient cup warming rack, complete with guardrails, on the top of this DeLonghi. Additionally the 15 bar vibrating pump, with auto-priming valve, provides more than enough power to brew espresso at the ideal extraction pressure.
High Power Stainless Steel Boiler
The DeLonghi EC702 is powered by 1100 Watt stainless steel boiler. The higher wattage compared to competing brands offers faster warmup times for both brewing and steaming which are controlled by individual thermostats. The nature of the EC702's 7 ounce stainless steel boiler serves dual purposes: it resists mineral buildup thus reducing the frequency of descaling maintenance, and it prevents your fresh water from ever acquiring a metal taste.
Pressurized Espresso And Pod Brewing
The EC702 brews rich, aromatic espresso using DeLonghi's Patented Sempre Crema Filter. DeLonghi designed the filter holder to ensure proper brewing pressure of about 9 bars to produce a perfect, caramel colored crema layer. The EC702 can brew either one or two 1 ounce shots of espresso at once, or it can also accept single shot E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) Pods for a no-mess alternative. We stock both Lavazza and Illy espresso pods. These baskets measure approximately 52.5 mm in diameter.
Easy Cappuccino Frothing System
Produce rich, velvety foam for cappuccinos with ease on your EC702 using DeLonghi's patented frothing wand. Designed to save you time and headache, the EC702's wand has a special tip on it that circulates more air into your milk to help you make cafe quality froth without hours of practice. The steam wand can also be used to steam milk for lattes or to dispense hot water for tea.
Water Tank And Drip Tray
The DeLonghi EC702 features a hefty 44 ounce water tank, complete with water level indicator, and a high-capacity drip tray to ensure that you spend more time enjoying your espresso rather than filling and emptying your machine.
