Use this rubber disk for all your backflushing needs on espresso machines equipped with a 3-Way solenoid valve. Cleaning, or backflushing, will remove built-up coffee oils that harm the taste of espresso and also impede the proper flow of brewing water. This rubber insert blocks the holes in your espresso shot basket, and it is used to "backflush" the brew group on espresso machines equipped with 3-way solenoid valves, such as Rancilio, Pasquini, Nuova Simonelli, some Ascaso and others. When used with Urnex Cafiza cleaning powder, the backflush cycle will clean the shower screen and brew group, in addition to the solenoid valve. Not only will your espresso taste better, but you will keep all the parts clean and working properly for years to come. Compatibility
This rubber backflush insert disk is made by Rancilio for any espresso machine with a 3-Way solenoid valve. Don't know if your espresso machine has a 3-Way solenoid? Check the drip tray after brewing a shot of espresso. If there is a gush of liquid into the tray after you shut off the brew switch, odds are that you have a 3-Way solenoid.
Use
To use the rubber backflush disk, simply purchase some Urnex Cafiza or comparable food safe detergent and follow these Backflushing and Maintenance Instructions. Always refer to the factory issued user manual for your equipment before performing any kind of maintenance. |
