The new 2011 model of the Baratza Maestro Plus Grinder is now available with a 20 dollar savings over the old model and with 100 percent identical operation. The only change is that the metal base has been removed. The Maestro Plus was designed as an improvement upon the Maestro. With the Maestro Plus, you gain incremental 60 second timer switch and a new pulse grinding switch, so you can grind more easily into an espresso portafilter. Its new metal base adds weight and sturdiness to the grinder. It still touts the Baratza qualities you expect such as even, quiet operation (thanks to an insulated motor construction and low RPMs), conical cutting burrs, grind settings ranging from fine to French Press grinds, and over 50% more grinding levels compared to other grinders in its class.
