Seasoning ICON® Cookware

  1. Place a sheet of aluminum foil on the oven rack below the pan
  2. Preheat your oven to 400º F
  3. Wash the pan in hot, soapy water and rinse
  4. Place into the oven to dry thoroughly for 3-5 minutes
  5. Once dry, remove pan from the oven (pan will be hot) and cover the surface of the pan with canola oil
  6. Wipe the excess oil around the exterior of the pan (this step is for gas cooktops only)
  7. Place the pan into the oven for 1 hour
  8. Once complete, your pan is now ready to use. Re-season often to maintain a nonstick surface

Cleaning ICON Cookware

Cleaning an ICON pan is easy. After cooking, use a metal spatula to remove leftover baked-on food pieces, then use a paper towel to wipe the interior and exterior of the pan. If food remains on the surface, rinse the pan with hot soapy water and use a bristle brush to remove the rest. Thoroughly dry your pan before it’s stored.

ICON pans are dishwasher safe; however, washing it in the dishwasher, using metal pads to clean, and soaking the pan in hot water will remove the pan’s seasoning and it will need to be re-seasoned before the next use.

After use, you should expect your ICON pan to change color. The change in appearance is due to the build-up of seasoning. You pan will look and cook similar to traditional cast iron or heavy French steel skillet.

Warranty

ICON® Cookware has a 25-year warranty for consumer use and a 5-year warranty for commercial use. The warranty does not cover warped pans caused by misuse such as quenching a hot pan in cold water and/or leaving an empty pan on a hot burner for an extended period of time. If used properly you will enjoy many years of delectable cooking with your ICON® Cookware!
