The Wusthof Classic 6" Extra Wide Chef's Knife is ideal for those needing a little more steel when performing different cutting tasks. The extra wide blade (from edge to spine) makes it easier cutting through larger fruits and vegetables when slicing or dicing, and giving you additional heft in the tool. Also called the Cook's Knife, this is most used knife in almost every kitchen since it's pretty much a manual food processor, giving you the powers to slice, dice, mince, and lightly chop most anything. At 6 inches in length, it's one of the smaller Chef's Knives available making it suitable for smaller hands and bodies. This specialized high carbon, stain-resistant alloy ensures that the critical characteristics of each Wusthof knife are right there from the beginning: razor sharp, long-lasting cutting edge that is both highly stain resistance and easily restorable (able to be sharpened). This formula is imprinted on each forged blade is the following world-renowned Wusthof steel formula: X50 CrMoV15
X = Stainless Steel Mo = Molybdenum
50 = 0.5% carbon – significant for sharpness V = Vanadium for hardness and edge retention
Cr = Cromium for stain-resistance 15 = Contents of chromium (15%)
