ORDER PROCESSING

WHEN YOU PLACE AN ORDER.  We always begin processing your order the same business day that your order is placed.  Business days are Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm EST.  That means that all orders received after 1:00pm on a weekday are processed the following weekday. 

"Processed" means that your credit card was authorized the order total automatically, a human being double-checked your order to see if there were any visible errors or inconsistencies, in most cases a shipping label was generated for your order, stock status was verified on the products in your order, and your order was then sent to the second and last pre-shipment phase: either forwarded to a warehouse for shipment, or flagged for follow-up for some special reason. 

Most of our non-drop shipped (that is, orders that are shipped from our Lafayette, IN warehouse and not directly from the manufacturer or some other party) orders are shipped the same business day arethat they are processed. Some orders may take longer than one day to process.  Orders that are not shipped from our Lafayette warehouse, but are shipped from some other warehouse (like directly from the manufacturer) can take up to three business days to process.  Capresso Pre-Brewed items can take longer to process.  If you are concerned about your order's arriving by a certain date, please call us at (877) 554-8336, or email us at support@jlhufford.com before you order.  For a list of brands whose products may be drop-shipped, please click here

STOCK STATUS.  If a product appears on our site and does not have a message indicating that it is out of stock, then the product is usually in stock.  In rare instances, an order is placed for a product that is not in stock.  This can happen when our inventory records are incorrect, such that a product that is actually out of stock appears to be in stock.  When this happens, you will receive a notice after you place your order.  You will have the choice to cancel or hold your order in processing until it arrives at our warehouse.   Stock replenishment time can vary depending on the product.  In any case of a non-drop shipped order's being out of stock or backordered, we will alert you of the stock status during the processing phase. 

FREE GIFTS.  Sometimes when you purchase from JL Hufford, you have an option of which free gift you would like to order.  However, in the event of an item's being returned, the value of any free gifts which are non-returnable (for example, a used coffee filter or two pounds of coffee beans) will be deducted from the refund or exchange amount.  If you would like to avoid the risk of being assessed the value of non-returnable gifts, then you may opt to receive no gift with your purchase.   To do this, select any free gift during checkout, but enter the text "no free products" in the "Special Instructions" box.

WHEN WE CHARGE YOUR CARD.  Your card is charged when your order ships.  We "settle", or send in all of the days transactions for final approval, after we have submitted a tracking number into our system.  So, a rule of thumb is the day you receive a tracking number is the day your card was charged.  Occasionally, you will be charged for your order several days in advance of the order being shipped.  This usually happens only in the case of certain drop-shipped orders that have extended processing times or backordered items for which the customer has agreed to pre-order. 

MAIL ORDERS.  We do accept payments by mail.  The only methods that are currently accepted are bank draft and money order.  Unfortunately, we cannot accept personal checks.  You may send your order by USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL to Attn: Sales / JL Hufford / 1175 Sagamore Parkway South / Lafayette, IN 47905.  These same instructions are repeated when you select the Mail Order payment option.

Although the product you desire may be in stock when you place your mail order, we do not hold products in stock when a mail order is placed.  That is because we receive payment for less than half of all mail orders that are actually placed.  If you are concerned about stock status by the time your payment arrives to us, please call us and we'd be happy to help.
