Make it an Italian Night!

Are you looking for a way to spice up your normal Spaghetti dinner? Why not try, Pasta Partners Meatball Mix? All that you will need is:

                1.5 lb. Ground Chuck

                2 oz. Sausage (optional)

                1 egg

1 package of Pasta Partners Spaghetti Sauce Mix or a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce

You will also need to set aside roughly 5 to 10 minutes to get everything mixed together, and then another 45 minutes to bake these delicious meatballs. If you don’t know if you will be able to wait the 45 minutes, let me tell you that it is possible! Make some bruschetta to snack on while you are waiting and pop in a movie that will set the mood for your Italian dinner.

BBQ Meatballs

Have you tried using our Pasta Partners Meatball Mix to make meatballs for spaghetti? You also need to try them with barbecue sauce! I mixed in the spice packet with my 1 pound of hamburger and shaped them into meatballs. Instead of baking them with spaghetti sauce, I just put them in a skillet over medium heat and browned them on each side. After they were good and browned, I threw them into my crock pot with the barbecue sauce that I made. I will add in the directions for this below. I let them cook for around 2.5 to 3 hours on low heat, stirring every 15 to 30 minutes. They were so delicious! They would be a perfect appetizer for any party! I made mine, my main course and paired it with some homemade french fries.

Barbecue Sauce
  • 1.5 cups of ketchup
  • 6 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 3.5 tablespoons of mustard
Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl with a fork. Pour over the top of your meatballs.

Hawaiian Pasta Salad

I love pasta salad and have been eyeing the Pasta Partners Hawaiian Pasta Salad. I finally decided to try it. Boy am I glad that I did! It was the perfect blend of flavors, that I would have never thought to do! Here is what you will need:

Pasta  Partners Hawaiian Pasta Salad Mix
2 cups chicken, cooked and diced (optional)
1 8 oz can pineapple tidbits, drained
1 11 oz can mandarin orange slices, drained
1 small red onion, diced
2 small avocados, diced
½ cup olive oil
¼ cup white wine vinegar

Directions

Heat 4 quarts water to boiling. Stir in pasta and return to boil. Cook for 5 – 8 minutes. Do not overcook – pasta should be quite firm for salads. Rinse with cold water until cool. Mix spice packet with olive oil and vinegar in a small bowl or shaker with a tight fitting lid. Shake until well blended. Pour dressing over pasta, fruit, onion and avocados. Toss and chill for at least 1 hour.

Serves 8 people.

Now, I am not a huge avocado fan, but this combination worked for me. I also did not use 2 cups of chicken. It also does come with the small bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I paired this with some of my apple sage pork chops. This was the perfect dinner!

Whole Wheat Classic Linguini with Oil

As a single guy I don’t cook often. When I do it is usually to impress company or on dates.  I wanted to find something to impress the company I had coming over and came across the Pasta Partners Whole Wheat Classic Linguini with Oil.  I followed the recipe listed on the JL Hufford website and it turned out wonderful, she even asked for seconds!  I am not a great cook but the Oil gave me some leeway on my and made cooking the noodles very forgiving. It was healthy, tasty and made enough for left over’s for my lunch the next day.  I saw that JL Hufford had several flavors of Pasta Partners that I may have to use in meals later. I guess for now I am a one trick pony with this recipe but it is a good one!

Shrimp Scampi and Green Pepper Fettuccine

I am getting ready to take a fishing trip with some family to Minnesota. One of the caveats of my family vacations is that every member who comes is required to plan one meal. I was looking over the JL Hufford website and found a combination that looked really enticing.  I am going to partner the Shrimp Scampi Pasta Sauce with the Roasted Red Bell Pepper Fettuccine. Hopefully we will catch some fish and I will substitute perch or walleye for the shrimp. Can’t wait!

Pasta Night

I am a huge fan of pasta and the Pasta Partners Creamy Roasted Garlic Pasta Sauce is one of my favorites! This sauce adds the perfect amount of flavor to my favorite dish without me having to measure out ingredients and spices. It is a simple sauce that takes the meal to the next level and I can use it with any kind of pasta that I find in my pantry. I love making pasta and adding this sauce when my friends or family come to visit.

Hunger is not the best cook!

A week ago I went on vacation with my parents up to Bemidji, Minnesota.  The weather was great, the fishing was easy, and the food was delicious.  One of the dishes I tried consisted of an extremely flavorful fettuccine noodle.  It was Roasted Bell Pepper Fettuccine from Pasta Partners. Aside from including 6 large servings of Fettuccine, the package came with a 1 ounce container of oil that you can use to cook the noodles with. It worked in wonderful collaboration with some of the fish we caught and was very easy to cook.  They say that hunger is the best cook but I think that the 3 servings I ate can speak of its scrumptiousness! Partner this dish with a light white wine to put this meal over the top!

A Very easy chinesse dish.

I love chineese food but my homemade attempts at cooking are not particularly tasty so I usually break down and just order from the local chiness resturnat.  I did not mind this method but I still had the desire to make some on my own.  My attempts had been futual until I found this pasta sauce blend.  Call it cheating if you would like but this is a very easy tasty method of making great Chasew chicken.

Ingredients:

  • 4, boneless, chicken breasts
  • ¾ cup of Vegetable oil
  • 2 cups raw cashews
  • 1 cups red bell pepper
  • 3 cups roughly chopped onions
  • 3 cups roughly chopped mushrooms
  • Pasta Partners Oriental Cashew chicken

1. Cube the chicken.

2. Grill the chicken – add oil to a skillet and on medium heat, sear then cook for approx 10 minutes each side.

3. Combine chicken, mushrooms, onions, cashews, bell pepper in a skillet and sauté until tender.

4. Serve on Rice or Lo mein

Alfredo Pasta Suace

The other day I was looking for a quick and easy meal to prepare. I had bought this Pasta Partners Alfredo Pasta Sauce and thought it was a good night to try it. I always have pasta and I usually don’t know what sauce to add to it along with flavorful spices. This Alfredo sauce was simple to prepare with just butter and milk. It was the perfect addition to my pasta. I also recommend making this sauce with pasta and chicken or pasta and shrimp. If you’re making a meal for just yourself or even with family, everyone is sure to enjoy this sauce mix.
