Where in the World?

"Where, oh where, are you tonight?
Why did you leave me here all alone?
I searched the world over and thought I found true love.
You met another and PTHHP! you was gone."

Does that bring back any memories?  I thought of it when I was pondering where exactly the different coffees of the world come from.  I found a map on Wikipedia to show you.

r = robusta
m = both robusta and arabica
a = arabica

Here are all of the different drinks that you can make with your favorite Espresso Machine like your Capresso, Saeco, or Rancilio.

The classic espresso recipe: a single shot of espresso, approximately 1-1/2 ounces. Best served in a pre-heated espresso cup.
Espresso Dopio (Double Espresso)
Double the quantity of espresso to about 3 ounces for double the pleasure.

Cool down and wake up

Recently I have switched from drinking coffee frequently to drinking Espresso drinks.  I still love coffee but for just one drink it sometimes is not worth it.  With some practice, and a good machine making good quality espresso can become effortless.  The machine in our office is a Nuova Simonelli Oscar; and I use a double basket portafilter to brew a few shots. This I add into a 16oz Lang coffee mug -which is filled with ice, milk and Toroni sugar free chocolate syrup.  (In total this drink has less than 100 calories.The two shots of espresso certainly wake me up! Happily, the espresso’s bitter bite is masked with the skim milk and chocolate syrup. This icy combination makes it a such cool refreshing drink especially when I am not in the mood for a hot drink.  I have to watch myself, however, as I can down this drink very quickly and become a very hyper office worker. Yet, it may be my new favorite drink!!

Saeco Odea Go II - Special Buy

The idea of a machine that can grind, brew and tamp a quality espresso shot almost seems like cheating.  Today I had a chance to use my friends Saeco Odea Go II.  I turned on the machine and it took about 20sec to heat.  Then I selected how much water I wanted and pushed the button to brew.  Within a few moments I had a freshly brewed espresso shot without needing the knowhow of tamping pressure, or how many grinds to put into a portafilter.  The machine even took care of the clean up.  It measured 7 grams of espresso into the portafilter, tamped the shot, then sent the heated water through the coffee into my cup. Wonderful and easy is all I can say.  I am not the best at frothing but with some reading and practice I am ready to step of my latte skills.  Priced at $499.00 on JLHufford.com this Super automatic espresso machine is a good quality, lower priced purchase.

Looking for Replacement Parts?

We have quite a few customers who are looking for specific parts for their units that we do not carry. They will have spent hours and hours searching and still have come up empty handed. We can help eliminate some of the searching. Typically if we do not carry what you are looking for, you can most likely find it at 1st Line Equipment. We have worked very closely with this company for quite some time. If in the unlikely case, they do not have what you are looking for either, then you are more than likely going to have to contact the manufacturer and find out how you can get yours hands on some parts for your unit. Companies like Jura Capresso, DeLonghi, Saeco and Krups like to service the machines themselves and very rarely send out replacement parts.
