If I could pick any item to bring with me on a deserted island, I would definitely take my fondue maker. I actually make a number of snacks for the kids, and my husband. The kids like to take fruit and dip the pieces into chocolate, white chocolate, or cream cheese frosting. They like chips dipped in a queso I make. My husband’s favorite is dipping pieces of chicken and shrimp into garlic sauce. I make a white cream sauce that is best.

I also make a mole sauce, artichoke dip and a basil tomato dip. Most sauces and dips are really high in fat and/or sugar, so we keep in mind that we could pack on the pounds if we ate TOO much of these foods. On the other hand our family really gets into to prepping of the foods, and the kids love the bite-sized chunks. We have turned this typically “glamorous” food choice into a suburban staple- all in the name of enjoying family time and fun foods ! !
