When I first learned how to steam and froth milk we would make each individual espresso drink in the cup in which it is then served. However, other coffee establishments would use a frothing pitcher. We never used these at the little coffee house I worked at. When I first began to discover why & how the pitchers were used I was baffled, seemed like a lot of extra work. However, the thing I LOVE most about doing it this way is the DECORATIVE drinks. I can steam & froth the milk to a consistency that allows me to pour the liquid into the cup and make a LEAF, a FLOWER, or a HEART.
