EAST OR WEST?

My sister has been on a green tea kick for a while, since she turned 35, and moved to a new house.  I was trying to decide whether to buy her the BONJOUR ZEN TEA KETTLE, or the BONJOUR TEAR DROP KETTLE. The Tear Drop Kettle was a pricier unit, so I assumed it was bigger or more durable; but this is not the case. The ZEN allows you to make up to 42oz of tea, whereas the TEARDROP makes only 27oz at a time. As the product description states the TEARDROP is good for the green tea or white tea enthusiasts as it has a double wall glass design versus the single glass wall design of the ZEN. Also, the design of the tea infuser of the TEARDROP allows the steeping process to maximize retention of the antioxidant properties as well as flavor and color. Even though I really liked the novelty of the ZEN, I decided my sis would appreciate the TEARDROP functionality for her new health kick.

My Favorite Coffee Drink

When I first started working at JLHufford, I refused to try coffee! Now I drink it every morning! It might not be straight black coffee or a shot of espresso, but it is perfect for me! I use my BonJour Lucie Unbreakable French Press, to and do a cold brew with JLHufford’s White Russian coffee. I make sure that I let it sit for a good 24 hours to bring out the entire flavor. I then pour it into my glass, filling it only ¼ of the way full sometimes half way full, it just depends on my mood in the morning. I add half and half, Torani’s Chocolate flavor and Torani’s Vanilla flavor. I always make sure that I am careful, when I add the Torani’s because a little can go a long way.  I never forget to top it off with some whipped cream or add in some ice cubes.  I think that after some time, I will eventually get to drinking straight black coffee, but it will take some training.

My Perfect Frother

I finally decided that I need to find the perfect frother to pair with my French press. While looking at the the variety of milk frothers that we offer on our website, I found the perfect one, the Bonjour Caffe Froth Maximus. I quickly decided no to the battery operated frothers because I do not want to have to work about putting in new batteries when they die. The rechargeable one wasn’t a bad idea, but I already have tons of things on my counter and I just didn’t want to have another item on there. I want a clutter-free kitchen. My only option left was the Maximus, and it was a great choice. I only heat it up in the microwave for roughly a minute and a half or less and then use some muscle to froth the milk. It creates a wonderful froth perfect for my cappuccinos and lattes! It also stores away nicely in my cabinet for a clutter-free kitchen counter!

Frothing Maximus Fun-A-most!

During the summer months, my kids and their friends are increasingly busy around the neighborhood. So far they opened a car wash, a neighborhood  water park (consisting of a slip-n-slide & a sprinkler),  a sno-cone  franchise, a fitness center-spa,  and a coffee bar.  These kids are fun to watch and it seems they each have a specialty -talent that gives them the creativeness to come up with these activities. The girls that live across the street bring over their gadgets for these endeavors.  For the coffee bar they had a several boxes of flavorings and powders. I was reluctant to let them plug stuff in, or grind the coffee without supervision. Steaming or frothing the milk was also a big safety “redflag” but the girls assured me it was safe. They had a gadget that frothed the milk without power. I was so fascinated; I called the girls’ parents to ask where this item could be purchased. JLHUFFORD had this clever item for a fair price. It made a wonderful addition to the coffee bar, and I bought one for our camper.

Bonjour Instant Read Wine Thermometer

My roommate loves red wine and has a glass a night with her dinner. She happens to be very picky with what temperature she drinks it at and will often play a fighting game of leaving it in the refrigerator and then setting it on the counter. For her birthday, I decided to give her the Bonjour Instant Read Wine Thermometer. When she first opened this up, she was a bit confused as to what it was and how to use it. After I explained that you just hold the thermometer next to your wine bottle and it will instantly tell you the temperature without any guessing games, she was thrilled. To complete the gift, I also paired it with a new wine glass and a bottle of her favorite red wine. This is a perfect gift for your wine lover or those who play the temperature guessing game.

Creme Brulee

My mother loves to bake and make new recipes. She was interested in trying creme brulee so for her birthday I bought her this Bonjour Creme Brulee set that is perfect for her to use. With the recipe included in this set, she was able to make a creme brulee in the four ramekins and perfectly torch the tops of them. My family tried the creme brulee and it was delicious! Next time we are thinking of adding some strawberries or blueberries to the top to make this dessert extra sweet!

Bonjour Insulated Tear Drop Glass Tea Maker

My grandmother happens to be a huge fan of tea and when I quickly realized that her birthday was rapidly approaching, I went off in search of a new tea maker for her. I stumbled across the Bonjour Insulated Tear Drop Glass Tea Maker and thought that it looked like it would do the job for her. It works the similar to French Press coffee makers and has a shut-off infuser, so that the filter will traps the hydrated leaves below the brewing line of the basket. This allows you to have more control over the brewing process. All that you add is 3 to 5 teaspoons of loose tea to the basket and fill the teapot up with 27 ounces of hot water. You let the tea steep for about 3 to 7 minutes, press it like you would with a french press and pour. The double wall feature with this tea maker keeps your freshly brewed tea hot longer than a traditional pot. This was the perfect fit for my grandmother and she absolutely loves it!
