After downing your favorite cup of chai, you look at the bag and wonder, “Big Train. That’s an odd name for my vanilla chai. Big Train.” After doing the same thing, I decided to do a little research for the question, “Why the name Big Train?”
Here is an excerpt from Big Train's old website that clearly defines why the name “Big Train”:
The Legend of Big Train
Trains have always symbolized certain romanticism and adventure in America. They provided our first coast-to-coast means of comfortable and safe travel, delivering products, goods and passengers across thousands of miles of wilderness eventually helping to tame wilderness into metropolis. From hopping freight cars and riding the rails to today’s elegant Amtrak coaches that provide all the comforts of home, trains helped to define our nation. Even with today’s fast, sleek jets capable of crossing the country in minutes, trains still represent the best way to travel if you want to see the country.
We wanted a name that represented something that everyone could identify with; a name that stood for something special. Our love of trains and what they symbolize led us to our name. Big Train is that name.
And, Big Train is right on track delivering the big taste and flavor you want and expect. The kind that lingers on your taste buds, teasing, caressing, whispering for more. It goes down so smoothly that when you’ve finished, it will take all your will power to not have a second. But, for the weak willed, it’s all right. After all, everyone can use a vacation from time to time. That is what we set out to accomplish with Big Train Gourmet Drinks. When you sip a Big Train you will experience a taste trip to an exciting new place; your taste buds will truly have an adventure. Big Train Gourmet Drinks can be your taste get-a-way, cool and refreshing blended iced coffees or hot and soothing Chai.
It all depends on where you want to go.
So give yourself or someone special a surprise taste vacation and get aboard the Big Train Express, your ticket to delicious.

After sitting outside and catching some summer rays, I decided that I needed something to cool me down. Then it hit me! I should make a blended ice drink. What better way to relax with a Big Train Fruit Tea Blast! Mix these tasty treats up into a party of flavor for your mouth to devour! Try the Wildberry Boost, Mango Madness, Pomegranate Blueberry, Lemon Cooler, Cranberry Raspberry, or my favorite Peach Pizazz.
The best way to mix these mouth-watering delights is to use one of our Vita-mix Blenders. Did you decide that you want one for home and at work? No problem, we carry both lines of Vita-mix machines. The Vita-mix Professional series is my favorite home unit, while the Vita-mix Bar Boss will get the job done at work or in your restaurant.

I have recently sampled theBig Train Fruit Tea Blast, specifically the Lemon Cooler flavor. This beverage mix is one of the easiest frozen beverages I've ever made and tasted great too! With easy to follow instructions listed right on the bottle, all you have to do is pour in equal parts of Fruit Tea Blast concentrate and water, add ice, and blend. Not only is it easy, but it is also low in calories. One 8 oz Lemon Cooler Fruit Tea Blast was only 170 calories.
Additionally, Big Train has 8 other tasty flavors to choose from: Banana Banana, Mango Madness, Pomegranate Blueberry, Passion Orange Guava, Peach Pizzaz, Pineapple Coconut, Strawberry Sensation, and Wildberry Boost.
If you are a smoothie lover but don't always have the time to cut up fresh fruit for your smoothies, this is a great alternative. Consider giving your favorite flavor a try for this summer!

My mother operates a Cheesecake Laboratory in a (not-so) secret location somewhere in the MidWest. She has been extracting, concocting, and inventing a method of cheesecake creation that fascinates the outside observer. Usually she operates in total non-disclosure, revealing her methods only after the item is fully consumed. She recently has used flavor combinations from products that are sold on the JLHUFFORD website. Spiced chai from BIG TRAIN was a flavor she hadn’t considered before. She used this idea in a cheesecake for a private catering job. The addition of approximately 1/8 cup of BIG TRAIN spiced chai gave the dessert a flavor twist that made the use of a fruit sauce topping unnecessary.

Today I had Kona Mocha blended ice coffee. Watch out it packs a caffeine punch. I was amped for the rest of the day!! On top of that it was delicious. This is the closest thing to a Starbucks blended ice coffee that I have tried. If you are not a huge coffee drinker this is another drink you will have to try. I know for many Americans in the southern part of the Untied States they have had a huge wave of hot weather, this would be a perfect solution to the hot weather and would wake you up. Kona coffee is one of the best in the world in collaboration with this the big train brand mix makes it magnanimous. Available in single serve or 3.5 lbs bags

Have you looked through all of our Big Train
products and still can't find something that suites you and your mood? Then you need to look at our Cappuccine
products! I am sure that you will find something that will work for you. We have from Red Velvet to CocoMocha Nut; Frosted Cinnamon Bun to Extreme Toffee. Unfortuantely, Cappuccine products only come in a 3 lb bag, unlike Big Train which comes in single servings, 12 oz bags and 3.5 lb bags. I hope that you will give Cappuccine and Big Train both a try!

The Fruit Tea Blast is a such a smart product that I don’t know how I ever made fruity drinks without it. These various flavors work well for making fast drinks for sleepovers for my kids, and great mixers for dinner parties. They are made with real juice and green tea. I don’t feel guilty serving them to the kids, as they have a significant amount of Vitamin C in them. Personally, my favorite is the LEMON. The bottle has a recipe for Granita, but these brilliant drink mixers let you make ANY drink you want in your blender SO easy and fast.

Only recently (within the past 2 months) have I started to drink coffee regularly and I have been a huge fan of the Big Train products. Although not at all nutritious but extremely delicious Blended Ice Coffee - Chocolate Peanut Butter
has to be one of my favorite frozen drinks ever. I have never had a chocolate peanut butter milkshake before but this would be my closest description of what it would be like. The cool creamy consistency matched with the richness of peanut butter makes this a must try. If you are not a big coffee drinker and would like somewhere to begin, this would be a very easy shift to initiate a life time full of coffee goodness.

I have tried my hand at fruit smoothies and have never attempted to make a frozen fruit tea in the past but I doubt they would have ever turned out as tasty as the Big Train Fruit Blast’s and they are relatively healthy. These frozen teas are high in vitamin C, Antioxidants and Caffeine Free and made with real fruit (none of that fake fruit!). This real tea drink contains no high-fructose corn syrup and it being fat free, makes a wonderful and health hot summer day drink! One 32 oz. bottle makes eight 16 oz frozen servings so pretty large drinks. Of the nine tea flavors options I have tried all but the banana and the strawberry and in my opinion the most refreshing and yummy would be Mango Madness.

Smoothies are the funnest food to make. Everybody LOVES them and there is no limit to the variety of smoothie flavors possible. Some people make them for health reasons and some cause they’re yummy. Kids loves to help make the smoothies, and grownups love them anytime. Unless you are allergic to strawberries, you probably would love a strawberry smoothie. Recently, our office made smoothies and used fresh organic strawberries that the mailroom girls bought. The secretary brought in some mix to add to the fun of it all. She purchased it from JLHUFFORD, as she uses it for the fruit smoothes for her block parties. She told us that this is the best she has found as is a basic base that won’t overpower the flavor of the fruit, nor water it down like just ice would. The secretary made smoothies for everyone, and even had us fill out a brief questionnaire to see if this was something we could get our office manager to stock in the break room during the summer months. Here are the tabulated results, this is an average out of 8 points:

The taste of Tippecanoe was this weekend in Lafayette Indiana. This is a day where venders from all around Tippecanoe County get together and present a few featured items for a “taste” for the visiting community. It is a really fun spectacle full of good music, great food, tasty beer and even fireworks. Every year it draws thousands of people to come and see the festivities. This year was my first time going. I am an adventuresome eater so I wanted to try tastes of things that I have never had before. I tried Indian, Thai and Italian and they were all very delicious. The day was beautiful but warm and I was in need of a drink as I was hot and parched. I saw the JL Hufford stand was offering Passion fruit Guava smoothies for a taste. This is a combo I have never tried before and gave it a shot. It was cool, refreshing and hit the spot. I will certainly have to invest into some of these smoothies in my near future.

Today I tried a Big Train Blended Ice Coffee flavor of Heath Mocha. I specifically tried the single serving potion that makes 16oz of blended deliciousness. They are easy to make! I feel that this blended ice drink had a little more prevalent coffee taste then some of the other big train mixes I have tried. Just add 12 ounces of ice to 5 ounces of milk and the single serve powered mix and blend until you have the desired constancy. I used a Vita Mix Quiet One Blending Station. Granted this may have been in a little excess with such a nice blender usage, but the sound enclosure on this machine really cut down the noise and power of the machine made an extremely smooth blended ice coffee. I can’t wait to try the other flavors of Big Train Blended Ice Coffee.

The BIG TRAIN line of products is a really diverse set of flavors. We use them in our coffee shop to make blended drinks. These products are easy to use and require no rigorous training for my workers to memorize what ingredients go into a specific drink. I believe my workers could easily be trained as baristas, but our selection of products is too diverse to insure consistency for the customer. I use the chai mixes by themselves, whereas the blended coffees often get just-pulled espresso in them. The crème products work really well with any added fruit that the customer may desire. Having this many options while providing a consistency of flavors has been a very profitable endeavor for our little coffee shop, thank you BIG TRAIN, and JLHUFFORD.

Today we sampled some new Big Train Blended Crème flavors. I personaly tried both the Watermelon and the Strawberry Banana. They were delicious! The watermelon truly tasted like a real watermelon and gave me the notion that I was actually eating a slice of freshly cut melon! The Strawberry Banana reminded me of my favorite Strawberry Banana yogurt. This particular flavor had creaminess to it that the Watermelon didn’t have; but I do not know if I would have liked the Watermelon as much as I did, it if did had the creamy factor built into it. I highly recommend both flavors! They will make great summer "cool down" smoothies!

Watermelon is thought to have originated in southern Africa, where it is found growing wild. Today I had a chance to try a Big Train Watermelon drink. It was the pinkest drink I have ever seen. This made me think that this would be perfect for hosting a baby shower or bridal party that needed a frosty, coffee-free beverage. This drink did have a very strong watermelon taste while still holding a creamy constancy of a milk shake. I do enjoy watermelon but -to be honest- this was a different idea to me, a watermelon flavored frozen drink? If you were a diehard watermelon fan this would be a must-try.

Vs One of my coworkers brought in a Starbucks Java chip Frappuccino. It looked so decadent and appetizing it made me really wish for one but I did not want to spend the 5 bucks to buy it. I have checked around and the best comparison I can find is from the Big Train brand. If you own a blender and some ice, @ $1 a packet this would be some substantial savings over buying these from Starbucks. I love these things and know that if I invested into a large quaintly I could save some money so I was very happy to see that JLHufford.com sold these guys in 3.5lbs bags. These 3.5 lbs bags are $20 and they make 38 drinks of eight ounce each! That’s a potential savings of $150!

As a kid I remember on hot coco and smores by the fire. I have never seen this conundrum before. It would be similar to calling food at state fairs healthy. Euphoniously titled I know you cannot have something frozen hot but I have always liked hot chocolate and having it as a frozen drink did not disappoint. To be honest it would it takes more like a chocolate milk shake but it was still fantastic. Cheap and simple and coffee free, Big Trains Frozen Hot Chocolate makes a great simple treat. These are sold 3.5lbs bulk bags as well!

Today I wanted to make a milk shake but lacked the ice-cream and milk so I was already off to a bad start! I looked through my cupboards and found a sample Chai packet that JL Hufford sent me as a promo. It was a Chocolate Malt blended ice coffee by Big Train. I do not really like coffee and so this did not sound like a good idea but the picture on the sample did look very appetizing so I broke down and made it. After a little bit of blending I had a cool, frothy, very milkshake looking drink. To my pleasant surprise I could not taste the coffee at all. It reminded me of malt that you can get in some of the old fashioned soda shops. It was so wonderful I immediately split mine with my wife and placed an order online. I can’t wait till the 3.5bls bag arrives and I can share this tasty treat with my friends.

Are you wishing that you liked coffee enough to try the Big Train Blended Ice Coffee's
but know that you will probably never get past that coffee taste? You can try the Big Train Blended Creme
. The blended creme is made the same, except it is coffee free! Now the bad part is that the flavor options do not overlap, but they are just as delicious as the blended ice coffee's. You can purchase the blended creme's in either a single serving or a 3.5 lb bag.

I have to admit that I am one of those people who is very always refuses to try low carb anything. My response always is, "I love my carbs." I finally decided that I need to break down and try one of our low carb products, if for any other reason, to say that I did. After looking at all of the low carb options, I settled for Big Train Low Carb Peanut Butter Cookies
. My thoughts were, you can't mess up a peanut butter cookie. While I was mixing the ingredients together, I kept tasting the dough and was like, there is some difference in this taste and kept telling myself, that I need to stop comparing items to the way my mother makes them. I need to learn to branch out and to try something new. After the first batch were done cooking, I didn't waste any time trying one. I grabbed the first hot one that I laid my eyes on and took a huge bite. They were extremely delicious! Now I grab a bag once a month to fix my sweet tooth every month.

Big Train Chai is a yummy beverage for all ages. Pick your flavor preference between vanilla, chocolate, spiced, or raspberry. I love the chocolate because it reminds me of hot chocolate every time. Anyway you prepare your drink whether hot, iced, or blended it will be delicious. The bag prepares 38 drinks which is enough for one person to spread throughout the month or for you to share with others. Each drink has less than 100 mg of caffeine per serving and less calories than most tasty drinks.

Are you a chocolate peanut butter lover like me? If you are, then you will absolutely love this drink! Big Train's Iced Coffee is such a delicious treat for any occasion. My favorite is the chocolate peanut butter, but there are so many other flavors you can choose from. It's easy to just add coffee, water, or milk and blend up a quick drink. The 3.5lb bag makes twenty 16oz. drinks. Whether you own a business and are looking for a tasty seller or just want to make individual drinks for yourself or friends, this will always satisfy your cravings!

The trees are changing, the weather is getting colder and the holiday decorations are starting to come out, fall season is here. With fall we get some of the season’s treats, candy corn, apple cider, pumpkin pie, eggnog and gingerbread. I was looking over my cupboards and found drink mixes for cider, pumpkin, and eggnog but did not find one for gingerbread. I did not know if such a thing existed so I looked online and found that Big Train offered a Gingerbread Chai tea. I ordered one and a few days later I was sitting down watching the leaves get blown off the trees in the back yard enjoying a nice hot cup of Gingerbread Chai. I could not believe that they were able to harness so well the unique flavor of this pastries mix into a powered drink. If you enjoy the taste of gingerbread this would be something that I would recommend.

This is a tasty treat for all ages! Make one of these frozen drinks from nine different flavors. There is Banana Banana, Lemon cooler, Mango Madness, Passion Orange Guava, Peach Pizazz, Pineapple Coconut, Pomegranate Blueberry, Strawberry Sensation, and Wild Berry Boost. My favorite is the strawberry sensation. Big Train's Fruit Tea Blast is made from real fruit or juice and green tea. If you are looking to get your vitamin C for the day, this gives you 150% daily per serving. These drinks are fat free and are 99% caffeine free. Besides the great nutritional facts, fruit tea blasts are simply delicious! One bottle makes eight servings, but if you are looking to make more for a party cases are available as well.

If you like yummy goodness, then you'll love this stuff. Comes in three flavors: cake batter, cookies n' cream (yum), and vanilla bean. If prepared right, it will be thick, creamy, and delicious. Each has its own, unique flavor that tastes exactly what it sounds like. Vanilla bean has small pieces of vanilla bean (like what you would see in vanilla bean ice cream), that has just the right amount of sweetness. Cake batter smells EXACTLY like fresh baked caked, and tastes like it too! My personal favorite, cookies n' cream has all of the deliciousness you'd expect of anything with that title. Give it a try today!

About a month ago, I was visited my grandmother and she noticed the Big Train Chai single serving packets I had. I asked her if she liked chai and she said yes, but she had never tried this brand before. I gave her a few Vanilla Chai single serving packets to try. Later that week she told me how much she loved them and wanted more. She asked me all about where she could get more and I told her I could bring her a bigger bag of chai home for Thanksgiving! I recommend Big Train’s Chai for the holidays because it is a delicious drink that you can share and enjoy with family and friends.

Are you in love with frappuccino's from Starbucks, but really hate spending the $4 to $6 on one? Then you need to meet Big Train
! Both companies have excellent mixes that you can make frappuccinos with for a fraction of the cost! Each 3.5 lb bag of Big Train mix makes 26, 16 ounce drinks, while each Cappuccine mix makes 36, 8 ounce drinks. If you typically purchase coffee based drinks, then you are going to want to make sure that you pick a coffee based mix. Cappuccine mixes typically say latte on them, if they have coffee in the mix. If you typically order a cream based drink, you will want to look at a cream based mix.

All Chai lovers have to try Big Train’s gingerbread chai! Gingerbread flavor is perfect for the holidays. My favorite way to prepare my chai is hot, but you can make it cold or iced too. It is very delicious with all the spices and gingerbread flavor. It warms me up on cold nights from drinking as well as my hands from holding the cup. I recommend this flavor to any chai lover because the holidays only come once a year and so does the gingerbread chai!
