It was months ago when I first saw the Capresso froth PRO Automatic Milk Frother in action at a trade show. I was intrigued then, but I am REALLY impressed now! Even with the unlimited supply of various frothing mechanisms I have here in the office, nothing is as simple and effective as this new gadget.
When I need hot milk for a cup of chai or hot chocolate, the normal routine of warming up an espresso machine, filling a milk pitcher, finding a thermometer, steaming for several minutes, and doing all the cleaning / dishes has been replaced with a quick 3 minutes of pour milk into the included container, place on the unit base, and push button. The froth PRO even shuts off automatically so I can walk away without worry of scalding the milk or overflowing the pitcher! It also has fill markings on the inside of the container which is convenient.
Other stand-alone milk frothers that have come and gone on the market have been disappointments -- usually a battle to heat the milk to a temperature other than luke-warm or too much / too little froth. The froth PRO heats to between 155 - 165 °F on the hot setting and about 140 °F on the warm setting. And it has interchangeable discs for milk with velvety froth or just straight-up steamed milk.
Because the froth PRO has a removable lid and wide top opening -- making it super easy to clean -- this time I even added the chai powder in with the milk to eliminate the mixing step. The chai mixed-in beautifully! No more awkward tubes and difficult cleaning that other stand-alone frothers require.
This is definitely a must-have product for winter. I'm already thinking of my next drink!
