You swing on over to our single origins coffee page, you’ll see that we added a new way to sort our coffees. You can now refine your search by body type. Body type is a great way to get a collection of coffees that taste just the way you like. Body is a characteristic of a coffee type that can be affected by country of origin, the type of bean and even how the coffee was roasted. The body is presented by the weight or “thickness” of that particular coffee. You can taste the body by swishing the coffee around in your mouth like you would a fine wine. Tasting coffee is very similar to tasting a fine wine. If you like a medium roast, medium bodied coffee like a Brazilian roast, then you can find other medium bodied coffees that will suit your palate. This is a great way to expand your “favorites” list! Happy Brewing!

 | The other weekend I decided to try and take off one of the big items on my "honey-do" list. The north side of our home is extremely unlevel and pushes water towards our home. This is a big problem! With hopes and dreams of one day finishing our basement, we must make sure the basement can stay dry. I decided to buy a really great shovel and go at it. About 30 minutes in to it I realized that I had no business moving that much dirt with a shovel. For me to spend less than a month doing this by hand I was going to need a bigger tool or 500 friends with nothing to do on Saturday. This is when I decided to call my local rental store to see what they could offer. Upon my surprise, they offered me a tool used by landscaping professionals everywhere. For fear of copyright issues I won't say the name but let's say these tools share the same name a wild feline in the mountains. | | It reminded me of something my dad always said, "Use the right tool for the right job." Unfortunately so many times we underestimate the need to have the right tool, even in the kitchen. Our hope is that we can produce food and drinks worth consuming with little to no effort. The problem is that we see the chefs on TV do it. Why can't we? It's not that I presume to tell you that the only thing setting you and the TV chefs apart is machinery. However, it's a big part. TV Chefs only use the best, period. Cutting boards, knives, pots, pans, blenders, utensils, and anything else that makes the job easier. At JL Hufford we pride ourselves in offering you the very best. That's why we stand behind our blender section so firmly. Our blenders are featured in professional kitchens and shops all over the world. Our blenders turn simple ingredients in to amazing soups, sauces, and beversages with the flick of a button. Blendtec and Vita-Mix blenders have been around for a long time. The companies have prided themselves in establishing reputations and strong gourmet appliance providers with the power and technology to turn most any kitchen into a gourmet kitchen. Treat yourself today. Give your kitchen the chance to be everything you ever hoped for. | |
