Peanut Butter is probably one of my favorite things to eat. My best friend from grade school introduced me to natural peanut butter as well. Her family own a health food store in the next town. One morning we had french toast for breakfast and she began spreading the PB all over it. I thought she was insane, but after tasting a bite, realized it was close to the best thing I’d ever chewed! So now I spread it on french toast, toast in the morning with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top, waffles, pancakes, peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and syrup, peanut butter cookies, and no bake cookies. I’m sure there are others that I just can’t think of right now. So I’m curious about where this delicious spread comes from. Peanut Butter is made mostly from ground roasted peanuts. Some have added oil, but other do not. It was invented by Dr. John Kellogg in 1890; it was the best thing he could find for his patients lacking the ability to chew and in need of protein. He and his brother submitted the first patent for peanut butter in 1895 and were then using it as a source of protein for vegetarian patients at their Battle Creek Sanitarium. They then decided cereal was their thing and discarded the production of peanut butter. In 1896, a former employee took over the peanut butter idea and began selling the machines that ground peanuts. His wife published the first nut cookbook three years later. Some have before believed that George Washington Carver invented peanut butter. He did, however, come up with over 300 uses for peanuts. I hope you enjoy the following recipes that include a bit of peanut butter syrup as much as I have! Fluffernutter Steamer: 1oz. Torani Toasted Marshmallow Syrup, ½ Tbsp. Creamy Peanut Butter, 8oz. Milk. **Steam ingredients Peanut Butter Cup: 3 Pumps Hersey's Chocolate Sauce, 3 Pumps Torani's Peanut Butter Syrup, 16 oz Milk Instructions: in steaming pitcher, we put chocolate and peanut butter, added milk and steamed. We then transferred to a to go cup and added whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. We were playing, but could also add espresso.
ENJOY!!

A lthough native to Mexico, Madagascar has become the world’s largest producer of Vanilla. In Spanish, Vanilla means “little pod”. It is used not only as a flavoring in candies, desserts, and beverages, it is also used in soaps, shampoos, candles, perfumes, and lotions. Did you know vanilla grows as a vine and climbs up an existing tree, pole, or other support? If it’s left alone, it will grow as high as possible on the support with few flowers. Growers will fold the higher parts of the plant downwards every year so it stays accessible by a standing person. This also just so happens to greatly stimulate flowering. One flower produces one fruit which is where the distinctively flavoured compounds are found. Vanilla Syrup works great in teas (hot or cold), milk (hot or cold), espresso, coffee, or as a topping to a drink or ice cream. Be sure to give vanilla syrup a try in these drinks.
