Wusthof Classic 10" Extra Wide Chef's Knife

This variation of the all-powerful Chef's Knife has an extra-wide blade, meaning a wider surface area from belly to the spine. This allows for quicker and easier cutting when attempting to dissect larger and taller food. Scooping and transferring ingredients from the cutting board to skillet is easier as well with the extra-wide blade. This Chef's Knife, also known by its alias - the Cook's knife, is still adept at light chopping (no bones!), slicing, dicing, and mincing. Whatever task you need to perform, the Chef's knife will be able to handle it when all else fails. The Wusthof sports the highly sought after PEtec edge, which is an extremely sharp and durable edge perfected with the help of lasers, computers, and robots. Fully forged from from a single sheet of high carbon stainless steel, the knife features a bolster with finger guard and full tang extending through the triple-riveted handle. This specialized high carbon, stain-resistant alloy ensures that the critical characteristics of each Wusthof knife are right there from the beginning: razor sharp, long-lasting cutting edge that is both highly stain resistance and easily restorable (able to be sharpened). This formula is imprinted on each forged blade is the following world-renowned Wusthof steel formula: X50 CrMoV15

    X = Stainless Steel
    Mo = Molybdenum
    50 = 0.5% carbon - significant for sharpness
    V = Vanadium for hardness and edge retention
    Cr = Cromium for stain-resistance
    15 = Contents of chromium (15%)
