"Brushed Stainless" finish is not stainless steel	February 15, 2013

The blender is great. The programmed settings are handy. Everything functions as expected for a high-end blender at this price. HOWEVER, the "brushed stainless" finish as it is called on the Vitamix website is NOT stainless steel. It is plastic painted with a metallic paint. Given the price, I would expect the housing to be stainless steel.

After purchasing a Blendtec from Costco, I didn't think that there would be a huge difference between the Vitamix and Blendtec. The Blendtec literally turns everything into water or doesn't blend things enough. This is where the Vitamix 750 EXCELS. I am extremely happy with my purchase. The look of the 750 is modern and less commercial/industrial than previous models. My mom has the vitamix 5200 and when she saw it, she wanted to trade me hers on the spot! the look of the 750 is extraordinary! It fits perfectly under standard sized cupboards (17-17.5 inch). She immediately fell in love with it. The consistency of ice creams, smoothies, soups, dressings is perfect! The recipe book is incredible and I am finally eating healthy again! The presets might be slightly overrated but they are convenient nevertheless. The tamper helps guide things to the blades and makes everything so consistently smooth. I highly recommend this product!
