Baratza Solis Maestro Plus Ginder November 4, 2010
Reviewer: John from Hillsdale, MI United States
I have had this grinder for about a month.  I use it for French Press and drip coffee.
I am very happy with this unit.  Though not silent, it doesn't wake the house.  I think the extra mass contributes to the reduced noise and makes it very stable.  Flying grounds due to static electricity are negligible, and this is in February when the house is the driest.   The grinds are consistent and uniform.  It has more  adjustments than I need, but I do notice a change with only a click or two.  I scoop in a cup or pots worth of beans at a time: they are ground thoroughly, with no extra beans left in the hopper, even though I use dark oily beans only.  There is little residue in the chute or container, so if I go from regular to decaf there's no problem.  I really like the two switches, I find I use them both.
All in all this unit is everything I hoped for in a grinder. JL Hufford shipped it quickly, and I appreciate that Solis sells replacement burrs and other parts so very reasonably.

No good for espressos November 4, 2010
Reviewer:  Ulysse1945 from ,  Montreal, Canada
After 20 years, my Saeco grinder gave up. I bought the Maestro plus following great reviews. Yes it is quiet, good on static and solidly built. But it doesn't grind fine enough for espresso. So I bought another Saeco flat burr grinder.
