Nice Machine November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Clark from Houston, TX United States
Our E8 arrived in August '07, a replacement for a Saeco Vienna in need of a tune up and expected to be with Coffee Tech  for several months ... they're musicians.
Our E8 has been cranking out coffee for over 6 months providing remarkably consistent coffee which is very good,  and comparable to the Seaco.  Having taken apart the Saeco to clean on a regular basis, I find it strange "cleaning" with little tablet but will probably adjust.  I use filtered water and a Clearyl filter but with no real "boiler" I don't expect scale to be a problem .
The manual does leave much to be desired.  Had it noted the message "open tap" might be related to oily beans and not a water issue, I wouldn't have spent 30 minutes in the phone queue at the Jura-Capresso 800 number.  That said, they quickly figured out the problem and provided good instructions on how to clear it up.  It's been a month since then and the E8 continues to provide good coffee.
Overall, we're very satisfied with the machine.

Good Coffee But Poor Reliability November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Elaine Bannon from Northville, MI United States
We upgraded to the E8 from the Ultima, which we had for seven years. The Ultima made good coffee but was fragile and had to be factory repaired twice. Despite this, we bought a refurbished Impressa E8 since we were happy with the quality of the coffee. When the E8 showed up the grinder was nonfunctional right out of the box. The service people at  Capresso sent us another unit via UPS. That unit worked for one day until it's grinder malfunctioned. We are now awaiting our third unit and hoping for better luck. Based on these experiences I would have to advise against the Capresso brand based on its poor reliability.

Very happy customer November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Brian Penn from Willow Grove, PA United States
I've had my "Pre-Brewed" E8 for about one month now. I'm very happy with it so far.  I'm still learning how to make different drinks, but even my pickiest friends all say how good the coffee tastes. I had a question regarding the unit and the manufacturer responded with an answer very quickly. I was a little hesitant about buying a refurbished model, but now I'm glad I did.  It saved me over $400 (that I can now spend on coffee)!

liked it so much, we have 2! November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous person from Aurora, IL United States
Purchased the first through Williams Sonoma, then found this site and bought one of the reconditioned ones for work.  There's a problem with cleaning not covered in the manual and you'll  think the machine not working properly...call Jura, it's an EASY fix once you know what to do.  Not enough space to describe here

Under extracted and not hot enough November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Nick Kelbaugh from Chula Vista, CA United States
The fact this machine does not brew hot enough keeps it from being what it should be. I am very dissapointed as I had high hopes for this and will be returning it. My $300.00 manual Saeco brews better espresso
Update 2/07-I just spoke to Capresso customer service. My brew temp should be about 180 degrees. My machine is currently brewing at 120. They agree this is not normal and are sending another machine.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Update
I received my replacement from Capresso Friday. It works as advertised. The replacement machine brews much hotter and the grinder works better than my initial machine. My only complaint is it doesn't seem to matter if you brew one two ounce cup or two two ounce cups at the same time, it seems like it grinds the same amount of espresso. This is not a big issue as their really is not recovery time with the machine. For me the best setting is a medium grind, two to two and a half ounces on the strong setting. I now give this machine four stars.

Overall very nice November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous person from Edgewood, WA United States
We recieved our E8 last week.  I read and research extensively prior to ordering this unit.  I am not a coffee guy, it was a present for my wife.  Our machine did have a few minor scratches straight out of the box.  The machine works very well and is simple to use if you have watched the video.  The instruction manual is marginal at best of the DVD and web video was very good.  My wife tells me the coffee is great.  Based on a significant reduction in starbucks visits, I believe the machine will pay for itself in 3-4 months.  My only real issue with the purchase was the time it took to arrive.  It was about 10 business days prior to the shipment leaving the capresso facility in the US.  It is worth the wait.

Fantastic! November 11, 2008
Reviewer: Coffee lover from PA
We are on our 2,500th cup of coffee with our E8 which we purchased 18 months ago.  So completely worth every penny.  Have not had any problems what so ever with it.  Highly recommend the FrothX attachment if you like lattes and cappuccinos.  Easy to use, easy to clean and maintain.  It seems that they stopped making this model, but the new model in the $800 price range would be perfect for any home user. LOVE IT!

I swear I got a new machine. November 11, 2008
Reviewer: Shari Morris from Chester, VA United States
I am very impressed with this coffee machine.  We got addicted to this at our friend's house.  I had to have this machine.  I was very skeptical on purchasing a refurbished machine, but I was very surprised when I got it.  Looked very new to me and makes the best darn coffee for a refurbished machine.  I definitely recommend purchasing from JLHufford.  They do take pride in satisfying their customers.  Not only that, I received it in just 2 days.

E8 Certified pre-Brewed is a great value May 29, 2007
Reviewer: Anonymous person from Centerville, OH United States
Return customer for Capresso / Jura after owning a C1300 with 2 years / 4500 cups and working great.  The C1300 is going to our vacation house and being replaced by the E8 at home.  Very impressed with the unit and brew quality is excellent.  Great value using the pre-brew program.  I strongly support it.
