Where is the prior TEAM?? December 7, 2011
Reviewer: Anonymous person from Traverse City, MI United States
After using this for over a year, very disappointed in this replacement for the previous TEAM model (which were outstanding).  The grinder remains excellent - thus the 2 stars -  but the quality of the rest of the product went downhill.  except for the grinder, there is nothing on this product to separate it from the rest of the coffee makers.

Excellent November 4, 2010
Reviewer: JACK from san diego, CA United States
Product history included Krups & Cuisinart but this is by far the best yet. Easy to use, easy clean up & less parts to be concerned about & it looks great.  No complaints - glad I returned the Cuisinart - tried 3 different models of Cuisinart to finally find Capresso CoffeeTEAM GS online.  I use it daily - some days I put grinds in & some days it grinds for me. Either way it comes out great.

I love this coffeemaker November 4, 2010
Reviewer: William Ponder from Huntington Beach, CA United States
I had a previous Capresso  for years and liked it a lot. I loved that it ground the coffee just before brewing and It made a great cup of coffee. When it came time to replace it I naturally turned to Capresso. This one's is even better. The footprint is smaller. It's more attractive. Filling the water is easier (you had to pour as slowly) and changing the filter is easier. The carafe pours better (the old one slopped the coffee when full). The coffee basket is easier to clean. The LCD is easier to read and more intuitive. In addition to all this, the new model makes even better coffee (if that's possible). The new one grinds more coffee in a coarser grind, probably because the new basket is a flat-bottom rather than a conel, but that is probably also responsible for the better tasting coffee so I'll take the trade-off. That does mean, however that the hopper (about the same size) needs to be filled more frequently. All-in-all it's a great machine!

Coffee team GS- 2 weeks in November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous person from franklin, TN United States
Hufford did a good job getting this to me fast and at a fair price.  The machine makes great coffee.  It is a bit temperamental.  The grinder got fouled twice in early runs where it was moving but not grinding.  It seems the only way to ensure performance is to only grind on the most coarse setting.  If it messes up its difficult to get it cleaned out and working, I used compressed air to blow it out.  Other than that and a little issue with how the manual directs you to make timed brews it does a good job and much better than my old unit from cusinart. The red light stays on always and the end of cycle light flashes continually for two hours which is a little distracting and could use a way to fix in the menu.  The LCD display needs a way to dim, you can read by it.

Capresso Team November 4, 2010
Reviewer: Gene Tang from Traverse City, MI United States
This unit is attractive, but I have to run 2 full cycles to make an 8 cup pot (I use 1 measure per cup).  Adjusting the grind settings seems to not alter this significantly.  When making 4 cups, the grinding is just adequate for grinding.  The ground coffee seems very fine and I don't see much difference when adjusting the grind settings.
My first machine had the same problem, then something happened in the grinder so that the ground beans no longer would pass through.  Excellent response from the company replacing the machine and paying shipping both ways.
......2 months later
The 2nd machine has now also stopped working.  Their explanation is oil buildup is clogging the grinder, solution: air dry the grinder overnight.
Most of my coffee is full city roast, not Starbucks like, so it doesn't seem that oily.  If you like dark roast coffee, I'd avoid this machine.
Results are good, but doesn't measure up to the Technivorm.

Capresso Coffee Team GS November 25, 2009
Reviewer: Shirley Ray from Carrboro, NC United States
Just used my new Capresso for the first time.  Coffee was fine, but there is one serious engineering defect.  The red light cannot be turned off unless one pulls the plug.  Who does that?  Who wants to reset everything all over again every time it is used?  Also, the casing is poorly designed (all in separate pieces patched and fastened together) and looks really cheap because of the material that was used.  I know his coffee maker is not as expensive as my first one, but even WalMart coffee makers look better and more expensive than this one.  And it is meant to take the place of the more expesive snap over maker.

JL Hufford Reply: After speaking with customer, the red light referred to above is the LED that indicates whether the CoffeeTEAM GS is in Brew or Grind/Brew mode. It is not meant to turn off. Since it is an LED (Light Emitting Diode), it uses a tiny fraction of electricity versus an incandescent or fluorescent light.

Additionally, Jura-Capresso responded to the customer's concern over the casing and said that the plastic casing is still the same ABS plastic used in the old models, but the glossy finish is now a textured matte finish to better complement the brushed stainless steel plating. ABS plastic is the same kind of plastic used in automobile bumpers. It is both durable and heat resistant.

This CoffeeTEAM GS is a brand new coffee maker released in August of 2009, and we can say with first-hand knowledge that it is a definite improvement over the old CoffeeTEAM S and CoffeeTEAM Luxe models. It has fewer removable and moving parts which translates to longer overall life of the equipment. We do appreciate the feedback nonetheless, as this is a learning experience for all involved.
