The Vita-Mix Retainer Nut 15585 is a critical component of every Vita-Mix XP, MP, and Advance blending container. It holds the blade assembly securely in place and features a rubber o-ring gasket to form a tight seal to keep water and food away from the blade. These newer Vita-Mix Lightweight Retainer Nuts feature a black coating for easier cleaning and better looks compared to the older bare aluminum retainer nuts. They are much thinner than the heavy retainer nuts found on older containers. If you are trying to piece together a new container or just need to replace some parts, then you most likely need the Vita-Mix Retainer Nut. See compatibility list below.

Vitamix Compatibility


The Vita-Mix Lightweight Retainer Nut - 15585 is designed for use with the newer Vitamix containers such as the Vita-Mix MP, XP and Advance containers.

It is not compatible the the traditional 64 oz, 48 oz, and 32 oz containers made of either Polycarbonate or Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, or the 1.5 Gallon XL.
