The Vita-Mix Retainer Nut 836 is a critical component of every Vita-Mix blending container. It holds the blade assembly securely in place and features a rubber o-ring gasket to form a tight seal to keep water and food away from the blade. These newer Vita-Mix Retainer Nuts feature a black coating for easier cleaning and better looks compared to the older bare aluminum retainer nuts. The Vita-Mix Retainer Nut - 836 is designed for use with the traditional 64 oz, 48 oz, and 32 oz containers made of either Polycarbonate or Eastman Tritan™ copolyester. It is not compatible the Vita-Mix MP, XP, XL, or Advance containers.
