Next Generation Design
Jura-Capresso designers have thrown out the concept that only the front of a coffee center should impress. Sleek, decisive lines and symmetric layout integrated with a black Jura seal accentuate the back of the unit, making the Jura-Capresso Impressa J6 ideal for placement on kitchen islands. Mirrored chrome drip tray, brewing spout, buttons, wand, and top vent accent the stylish piano black body. The J6 Super Automatic Coffee Center is a wonder to behold from all angles.
Intuitive Controls
The main control center of the Jura-Capresso Impressa J6 is on the front of the unit. A set of six buttons is configured in a ring shape. There are two buttons for espresso (one single and one double), two for coffee (one single and one double), one for hot water, and one for steam. All of these functions are programmable. For example, the strength, temperature, and size of each of the coffee buttons can be set, as can the amount of water delivered in a hot water cycle, and the amount of time a steam cycle lasts. On top of the J5 are three more controls: two buttons (one for power, the other for maintenance) and a rotary control dial for programming. A convenient, highly readable LED display guides you through every function in any one of five languages.
Visual Programming
Take a look at your coffee mug. Do you know its size in ounces? With the Impressa J6, you can visually program it to remember all of your favorite cup sizes. Rather than entering the size, in ounces, through a program menu, you simply press and hold the beverage button you would like to set (with your cup under the spout) and wait until the J6 displays "Enough?" When your cup is filled with the desired amount of coffee, milk, foam, or hot water, press the button again, and the J5 will remember your setting. You can always use the Rotary Dial to override the programming without fear of losing your favorite settings; the J6 will revert back on the next brew.
Revolutionary Brew Head
The brew head is the part of the unit that dispenses freshly brewed coffee. The Jura-Capresso Impressa J6 debuts the Butterfly Coffee Spout - a height and width-adjustable coffee spout. In addition to being able to raise or lower the spout to accommodate tall and short cups, you can also spread or close the dual spouts to easily fit two wide cups or one tiny espresso shot glass, a first among super automatics.
Professional Auto-Cappuccino Spout
The FrothXpress system helps you to prepare perfect cappuccinos and lattes cup after cup. It automatically siphons milk from your personal milk container, combines it with hot steam and delivers hot, frothed milk into your Cappuccino cups. Turn the dial to the latte setting, and the frothXpress will deliver hot steamed milk with very little or no froth for that delicious Latte. Use the visual programming function to set your favorite level of steamed milk or froth.
Ultra-Quiet Grinder
The J6 features Jura-Capresso's newest incarnation of its steel burr grinder, which boasts both an exceptionally quiet grind and a beam-monitored bean sensor. That means that the J5 actually monitors the amount of beans in its bean hopper using special active beams, rather than relying on error-prone internal sensors. The Impressa J6's Integrated commercial grade steel conical burr grinder has six settings which allows you to adjust the fineness for all kinds of beans - from light to dark roasts.
Ecological Intelligence
Do want your drinks ready for you at any random moment but do not want to waste electricity? Activate the Impressa J6's Energy Save Mode© to lower the temperature of the unit without completely turning it off. This setting is perfect when you need espresso all day long but wish to prepare it in intervals.
Intelligent Pre Brew Aroma System (I.P.B.A.S.©)
The unique two step pre-infusion cycle moistens and conditions the ground coffee, which means maximum flavor extraction with perfect crema topping. As an added bonus, Jura-Capresso has fitted the Impressa J6 with Ceramic Valve Technology. This new internal technology shortens the flow of coffee resulting in hotter temperature and more crema in your cup for the best in high-end pressure brewed espresso and coffee. With the J6 you can brew one to sixteen ounce cups of coffee in two four strength settings. It grinds from 5 to a maximum of 16 grams of coffee from mild to extra strong. The J5 will automatically discard up to 16 pucks (used coffee portions) before its puck container gets full.
Stainless Steel ThermoBlock
At the heart of the Impressa J6 is a stainless steel-lined ThermoBlock boiler. Unlike a traditional boiler, thermoblocks offer rapid warm-up times paired with efficient, on-demand water usage. Turn on the J6, and it will be ready to brew in just a few moments. ThermoBlock technology channels the water through the heating element while minimizing the amount of water heated to what the J6's user demands. This process ensures water does not become stale sitting in a boiler for an extended period of time.
Integrated Pure Water System (I.P.W.S.©)
The advanced Clearyl filtration system prevents water impurities from entering sensitive areas of the machine, causing damage, and altering the taste of the coffee produced. A change filter message will be displayed when it is time to replace the cartridge (about every 6-10 weeks or 15 gallons). The J6 will also prompt you when it is time to clean the machine, so proper maintenance is a breeze.
Innovations Abound
The Impressa J6 comes equipped as you would expect--loaded with features. We will name only a few, as the list is very long. An auto-sensing bypass doser for pre-ground coffee provides the user a hassle-free method to quickly change to a different flavor or decaffeinated. The J6 automatically rinses itself upon start-up to prevent that dreaded cold first shot of the day. A 71 ounce water tank, 9 ounce bean hopper paired with the Butterfly Coffee Spout ensure cup after cup of uninterrupted beverages, large or small. The LED illuminated brewing surface adds an extra touch of elegance.
