Stainless Steel-Lined ThermoBlock Boiler
Your DeLonghi EC860 uses a stainless steel-lined thermoblock boiler to provide brewing and steaming power for your coffee drinks with a very fast cycling time. Unlike a traditional boiler, thermoblocks offer rapid warm-up times paired with efficient, on-demand water usage. Turn on the EC860, and it will be ready to brew in just a few moments. ThermoBlock technology by DeLonghi channels the water through the heating element while minimizing the amount of water heated to what the user demands. This process ensures water does not become stale sitting in a boiler for an extended period of time, and the stainless steel lining prevents your fresh water from ever acquiring a metal taste. Additionally, the DeLonghi EC860 semi-automatic has a cup warming platform set just above the boiler to help pre-warm your espresso or coffee cups.
Die-Cast Stainless Steel Construction
The DeLonghi EC860 Espresso Machine sets itself apart from most semi-automatics in that it is housed primarily inside a corrosion-resistant die-cast stainless steel body. Already at the top of its class on the inside, the steel body ensures that the EC860 will stand the test of time on the outside as well. There is always going to be some plastic with an espresso machine, but the DeLonghi EC860 has the most stainless steel in its class. Additionally the 15 bar vibrating pump, with auto-priming valve, provides more than enough power to brew espresso at the ideal extraction pressure.
Pressurized Espresso And Pod Brewing
The EC860 semi-automatic can brew rich, aromatic ground espresso as well as E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) Pods. DeLonghi designed the filter holder to ensure proper brewing pressure of about 9 bars to produce a perfect, caramel colored crema layer. The EC860 includes baskets for single and double shot of espresso, and a dedicated basket for pods for a no-mess alternative. We stock both Lavazza and Illy espresso pods which will work great with this DeLonghi EC860.
Water Tank And Drip Tray
The DeLonghi EC860 features a 35 ounce removable water tank and a high-capacity drip tray with water level indicator, allowing you to spend more time enjoying your espresso rather than filling and emptying your machine.
