Bottomless portafilters are used as diagnostic tools to improve espresso extraction because it allows the operator to see how evenly espresso is flowing out of the bottom of the basket. Sometimes called a naked portafilter, it will let you identify off-center extractions, multiple streams, and spritzing, among other issues and gives the best feedback for irregular distribution of the ground espresso. This model is fully chromed and will fit machines such as the Pasquini Livia 90. It comes with a 58 mm triple shot basket crafted with new micro-fine holes, but any compatible basket can be used, such as a single or double.

Compatibility

This Bottomless portafilter with 58 mm Triple Shot Basket is for the Pasquini Livia 90 espresso machines, provided they are not the machines sold by Illy and converted for use with pods or capsules.

It will also fit Astoria and Brasilia espresso machines and most Bezzera machines (except Strega).

We do not know if it will fit the Bezzera BZ99.
