Whether you're using the Total Blender for a smoothie or food prep, all it takes is one push of the button to get the perfect consistency and results. The Total Blender uses Blendtec's exclusive Smart-Touch Tec-nology™ which, upon pushing the cycle/pre-set button, the blender automatically speeds up, slows down, and shuts off when complete so recipes turn out perfect every time. For superior convenience for the home user, the Total Blender contains 6 pre-sets with the the following tasks printed on the buttons:- Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt
- Ice Crush, Milkshake
- Soups, Syrups, Fondues
- Sauces, Dips, Dressings, Batters
- Whole Juice
- Smoothie
Along with the 6 one-touch pre-set buttons, two manual speed buttons (a "speed up" and a "speed down") give you a range of 10 speeds that will run for 50 seconds and shut-off. Those two buttons and the pulse function give you the ultimate level of control over the entire blending process.
LCD Information Display
Just below the 9-button interface is an aesthetic blue LCD screen which displays information such as the particular blend cycle in use (smoothie, soups, etc.), time remaining in cycle, overload indication (if implemented), and total number of cycles run during the life of the blender.

Easy Cleaning
The Blendtec Total Blender's blending jar is dishwasher safe (top rack) and can also be cleaned by adding 2 cups of water and 1 drop of dish soap to the container. Hold the pulse button for 5 seconds, rinse, and you are finished!
