The Total Blender Designer Series FourSide from Blendtec is the first home blender to use a touch screen interface for operation. Touch the illuminated on/off icon, and your options are revealed in the form of 8 sleek icons: 6 pre-programmed blend cycle icons, a pulse and cancel icon, as well as a manual touch slider which gives you a range of 8 speeds to choose from. The cycles programmed include functions for batters, ice crush, smoothies, ice cream, whole juice, and soups. Along with this innovation, the motor on the Designer Series has been tweaked to perform quieter and cooler so you can use it longer, while the blender itself sees an extended life. Blendtec has outdone themselves again, manufacturing a blender that is more innovative, user-friendly, and efficient. This upgrade from the regular Total Blender does feature similarities, like the identical motor power and the same 6 pre-set blend cycles which employs Blendtec's Smart-Touch Tec-nology™ (blender automatically variates its speed for ultimate consistency and the best results). Vibrant Touch Screen Interface
For the very first time, Blendtec has produced a home blender with a capacitive touch screen control surface, similar to most high-end cell phones today. When off, all you will notice on the slick black surface is the "on" icon near the upper right. When the touch sensor feels your fingertip, the icons illuminate the interface giving you an easier pathway to your desired task. When finished, turn the blender off and watch as all the icons and touch slider slowly fade, leaving you with sleek black surface and a lone dim light begging, "turn me on again, please."
Vivid Icons, Easier Operation
When turned on a manual "touch slider" appears underneath the 6 blend cycle icons, giving you absolute control over the entire blending process. Either slide from the left to gradually select a speed or just touch the desired speed level. A pulse icon appears to the right of the slider, as well as a cancel button on the left. The total number of blend cycles ran during the life of blender will flash above the six icons when turned on. The blend cycle icons (same as regular Total Blender) are pretty universal, allowing owners to easily recognize the cycle pictured. The six pre-programmed tasks and icons are:
Same Powerful Motor, More Efficient
We have the same powerful, commercial quality direct-drive motor, but the engineers did some tweaking to make the motor speed controls more sophisticated and added a revolutionary air flow design. This in turn leads to a quieter and cooler motor which allows you to work it longer, and an extend life of the blender. FourSide, BPA-Free Blending Container and Blade
The Blendtec Designer Series uses a BPA-Free 64 ounce FourSide container, complete with the permanent (and Lifetime Warrantied!) 4-inch wing-tip blade. Blendtec engineers have developed the most efficient jar shape whose design allows ingredients to bounce off the sides of the jar and back into the blending vortex instead of chasing them around in a circle. Blendtec machines are known for producing the best, most consistent results in taste and texture. Easy Cleaning
Cleanup is essentially effortless since there are no buttons to wipe clean and no food or liquid penetrating the casing. Simple run a damp cloth across the interface and it's as good as new. The Blendtec Designer Series Total Blender's FourSide blending jar is dishwasher safe (top rack) and can also be cleaned by adding 2 cups of water and 1 drop of dish soap to the container. Hold the pulse button for 5 seconds, rinse, and you are finished!
