Smart and Simple Controls In terms of features, this is where the Baratza Maestro Plus distinguishes itself from its now discontinued little brother, the Maestro. Operate the Baratza Maestro Plus grinder one of two ways: timer or pulse control. Timer grinding: adjust the newly constructed brushed metal dial on the side of the unit to the desired grinding time, up to 60 seconds. The intuitive graphics around the dial allow you to repeat the exact grinding time for any application every time. Need to grind just a little more coffee? The pulse grinding button, located on the front of the machine, lets you grind in short bursts for as long as the button is depressed. It also makes grinding into an espresso portafilter much simpler by keeping the control near the portafilter.
German-Made Conical Grinding Burrs The Baratza Maestro Plus Grinder employs 40 mm conical burrs to turn coffee beans into consistent grounds or espresso powder. These burrs are precision manufactured in Germany and hardened into the cone shaped grinding wheel assembly. Conical burrs excel at improving the flow of coffee beans into the grinding plates. Conical burr grinders, in additional to being tougher and longer lasting than other types of grinders, are exceptional at producing consistent grinds from very fine to very coarse. Quiet Running Gear Reduction Motor The Baratza Maestro Plus has been upgraded with a DC converter to power a potent 240 watt DC motor, which is twice as powerful as the previous Solis Maestro Plus motor. But don't feel intimidated by its strength; the Maestro Plus takes advantage of special gear reduction to make the unit grind more slowly. The power of the motor keeps it from seizing on extra fine grinds, and the gear reduction protects the flavor of your coffee. Slower grinding means not only a quieter grind, but a cooler grind, resulting in less aroma oils being lost during grinding. In fact, at just 450 RPM, the Baratza Maestro Plus Burr grinder delivers the quietest, coolest grind in its class. The new circuitry also incorporates an automatically resetting thermal cut-off switch for optimal performance.
Grind at Any Setting: From French Press to Espresso Many burr grinders claim to have a wide range of grinding ability, even incorporating twenty or more settings. But, without a precisely calibrated grinding assembly, these settings are for little more than show. Now with forty grind fineness settings, the Baratza Maestro Plus is totally capable of grinding for any application: from the coarsest, like French Press brewing, to the finest, like pressurized Espresso preparation. A new triple-supported seating structure with a redesigned base for stability allows for ultimate grinding precision at any setting.
Less Mess For Longer Life Static build-up and a lack of containment in the grinding chamber are the usual suspects when it comes to excessive grinds. No matter how tidy your grinding method, it seems like coffee grounds always wind up where you don't want them: on the counter, on the floor, or - what's worse - inside the grinder's sensitive components. The improved tightly sealed grinding delivery assembly ensures that coffee grounds go where they are supposed to: into the grounds collection container. Additionally, the collection container itself is made of an anti-static material.
Direct Grind-to-Porta-Filter Option Using a portafilter pump espresso machine? No problem. The Maestro Plus was actually designed with such machines in mind. Just remove the ground coffee collection bin and reveal a curved portafilter access area. Grind directly into the portafilter from the anti-static grinding chute.
Simple Controls Power on the Baratza Maestro Plus grinder with its newly designed timer switch. You may rotate the switch clockwise to any of the marked set points as a reference. The dial winds back to the home position as time elapses during grinding. When you need to adjust the grind size, simply twist the extra-large 8 oz bean hopper into the desired fineness setting.
Customer Service and Support The Baratza Maestro Plus grinder comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty. If the grinder has a problem, Baratza offers technical support by phone or email. They will promptly send a replacement grinder and a prepaid shipping label for return of the old grinder if the grinder is defective. You don't pay for the repair! |
