- How is "semi-automatic" different from "automatic" and "super automatic"? What type of unit is this?
When we use the term "semi-automatic", we mean a machine that is such that the user must press a button both to start and to stop the brew process. When we use the term "automatic", we mean a machine that is such that the user needs only to press a button once and the machine stops and starts the brew process. When we use the term "super-automatic", we mean a machine that will grind, tamp, brew, and dispose of grounds all with one push of a button. The Saeco Primea Touch Plus is a Super-Automatic.
- The Saeco Primea Touch Plus takes coffee beans, but can it take pods or capsules?
The Saeco Primea Touch Plus can only take coffee beans or pre ground coffee.
- What's with the name?
The Saeco Primea Touch Plus is so named for its full color touch screen. Each of the unit's vital functions can be accessed directly from the touch screen display.
- This machine uses a ceramic grinder, but other Saeco super-automatic coffee centers use a metal burr grinder. Which is better?
The newest Saeco machines integrate Saeco ceramic cutting burrs, which are extremely durable, and deliver a quieter grind than metal grinders.
- How does this machine differ from other Saeco super-automatic coffee machines?
Unlike earlier Saeco units, this machine comes with the Saeco SBS brewing system (which allows for a direct control dial on the spout), includes Rapid Steam for fast steam/brew recovery times, uses a completely integrated automatic frother for cappuccino preparation at the push of a button, and features a total makeover in shape and color schem. What's more, the Primea Touch Plus is the first machine to offer a full color digital touch screen, distinguishing it from even other Saeco Primea machines.
- The Saeco Primea Touch Plus uses an "integrated automatic milk frother". What is it and do I have to use it?
The Primea is Saeco's first one touch machine, which allows you to deliver both coffee and frothed milk from the same brewing spout. That means you don't even have to move your cup during cappuccino or latte creation. This integrated frother makes steam wands obsolete, instead totally automating the frothing process. Once you push the milk frothing button, the Primea Touch Plus pulls milk out of its internal milk container (refrigerated when not in use), froths the milk, then dispenses it and freshly ground and brewed coffee into a cup.
- The Saeco Primea Touch Plus has a "Coffee of the World" feature. What is that?
This new feature allows you to choose from seven preconfigured coffee drinks: short espresso (ristretto), traditional (regular) espresso, Northern European coffee, Swiss crema style coffee, traditional American coffee (ie: cafe Americano), large - strong coffee for a full day of energy, and a even a nighttime cafe macchiato. In addition to these settings, there are also eight more programmable drink settings, giving you total control over the brewing function.
- This machine features Saeco "SBS" brewing system. What is it and how does it affect me?
Although it has been possible to program the amount of water used in a coffee brewing cycle, it has only recently become possible to adjust the amount of water added to a coffee drink during the brewing process. That means that if someone wants a cafe Americano (an espresso with added hot water), and someone else wants a ristretto (short espresso), each person can press the same brew button, but dial in the amount of water used after the brewing has begun.
- What happens if my machine breaks or I have problems using it?
Our staff is trained in the use and care of this machine, and a toll-free Saeco support number is also included with your purchase. In addition, Saeco provides a one year limited warranty on parts and labor. As an added benefit, When you purchase from JL Hufford an extra year of service is added past the manufacturer's one year period. That means your Saeco Primea Touch Plus is under coverage for a full two years from the date of purchase.
- How long will it take for my machine to arrive if I order it with standard ground shipping?
If we ship your machine via standard ground, then the estimated delivery time is one to five business days starting on the business day that the item is shipped.
