- How is "semi-automatic" different from "automatic" and "super automatic"? What type of unit is this?
When we use the term "semi-automatic", we mean a machine that is such that the user must press a button both to start and to stop the brew process. When we use the term "automatic", we mean a machine that is such that the user needs only to press a button once and the machine stops and starts the brew process. When we use the term "super-automatic", we mean a machine that will grind, tamp, brew, and dispose of grounds all with one push of a button. The Saeco Primea Ring is a Super-Automatic.
- The Saeco Primea Ring takes coffee beans, but can it take pods or capsules?
The Saeco Primea Ring can only take coffee beans or pre ground coffee.
- What's with the name?
The Saeco Primea Ring is so named for its ring-shaped control. As you move your finger around the ring, you can scroll through the machine's various programming features.
- This machine uses a ceramic grinder, whereas other Saeco super-automatic coffee centers use a stainless steel burr grinder. What's the difference?
Newer Saeco units are fitted with innovative ceramic cutting burrs, which are extremely durable, and deliver a quieter grind than stainless cutting burrs.
- What's the difference between this machine and other Saeco super-automatic coffee centers?
Unlike some other Saeco units, this machine uses the Saeco SBS brewing system (which takes advantage of a direct control override dial on the spout), includes Rapid Steam for fast steam/brew recovery times, uses a new totally integrated automatic frother for single touch cappuccino and latte brewing, and features a total redesign in color and shape.
- The Saeco Primea Ring uses an "integrated milk frother". What is it and do I have to use it?
The Saeco Primea Ring is Saeco's first single touch machine, which allows you to deliver coffee and frothed milk from the same brewing spout. You don't even have to move your cup. This integrated frother completely eliminates the need for any sort of steam wand. Once you press the milk frothing button, the Primea Ring pulls milk out of its replaceable milk container (kept in the refrigerator when not in use), steams and froths the milk, then delivers it and freshly ground and brewed coffee into your cup.
- The Saeco Primea Ring has a "Coffee of the World" feature. What is that?
This feature lets you choose from seven preconfigured coffee drinks: a short espresso (ristretto), traditional (regular) espresso, Northern European coffee, Swiss crema style coffee, traditional American coffee (ie: cafe Americano), large - strong coffee for a full day of energy, and a even a nighttime latte macchiato. In addition to these settings, there are eight additional drink settings you can program yourself.
- This machine uses the Saeco "SBS" brewing system (the dial on the front of the brewing spout). What is it and why should I use it?
Although it has long been possible to control the amount of water added to coffee in a brewing cycle, it has only recently become possible to adjust the amount of water added to a coffee drink during a brewing cycle. That means that if someone wants a cafe Americano (a long espresso, or espresso with added hot water), and someone else wants an espresso, each person can press the same brew button and adjust the amount of water used to brew after the brewing has begun.
- What happens if my machine breaks or I have problems using it?
Our staff is trained in the use and maintenance of this machine, and a toll-free support number is included with your purchase. Additionally, Saeco offers a one year limited warranty on parts and labor, and when you purchase from JL Hufford an additional year of service is also included. That means your Saeco Primea Ring is covered for two years (starting at the date of purchase).
- How long will it take for my machine to arrive if I get standard ground shipping?
If we ship your machine standard Ground via FedEx, then the estimated delivery time is three to five business days starting on the business day that the item is shipped.
