The Nuova Simonelli Eureka is referred to as a doser espresso grinder because it grinds into a front-mounted container with a portion control system at the bottom. Doser grinders work most efficiently when the dosing chamber is at least half-full. Each pull of the lever can be adjusted to dispense between 5 and 9 grams of espresso. Because the Eureka can also be considered a semi-automatic grinder, you are not forced to grind to fill the entire dosing chamber, which holds up to 1 pound of ground coffee.
Stepless Grind Adjustment

It does this with not only quality grinding burrs and motor, but also with its step-less grind settings. Many grinders force you to change the grind setting one click at a time. While the difference in fineness is small, there is still a gap which your perfect shot of espresso could reside. With step-less (or micro-metric) adjustment, there are no leaps from setting to setting. Simply turn the micro-metric adjustment knob, and your Nuova Eureka will change the grind setting very slowly and in tiny increments. For this reason, the Nuova Simonelli is best used as strictly an espresso grinder.
Medium to High Volume Commercial Flat Burrs
The Nuova Simonelli Eureka employs 60 mm hardened steel commercial burrs powered by a 280 Watt motor spinning at 1330 RPMs. This combination increases throughput to up to 11 pounds an hour.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The body of the Nuova Simonelli Eureka grinder is a solid piece of cast metal that has been treated to resist corrosion resting atop a flame-resistant ABS plastic base. The metal is then power-coated and baked to give the Eureka a beautiful, metallic silver finish. The bean hopper on top is easily lifted off even with coffee beans still inside. It has a sliding guard on the bottom to prevent the beans from falling out. The bean hopper holds up to 3 pounds of coffee beans. The doser holds up to 1 pound of ground coffee.
