Heavy Duty Construction
The Krups KM8105 is a powerhouse coffee maker, inside and out. The body is forged from die-cast metal with a brushed stainless steel finish. Inside is more of the same. The Krups KM8105 Die-Cast brews coffee using a powerful 1400 Watt stainless steel-lined heating element. Yes, the bottom of the machine does say 1400 Watts, not the 1100 Watt typo found elsewhere. A more powerful heating element means hotter brewing temperatures because the boiled water takes less time to reach the coffee grounds. The Krups KM8105 assures brewing temperatures in the 200 to 205 degree range for maximum flavor extraction from freshly ground coffee.
Dual Programmable Brewing
In addition to its powerful platform, the Krups KM8105 offers simple, yet comprehensive programming. Use the large, backlit LCD screen and soft touch buttons to program 2 different auto-on times. Set it for the desired weekday/weekend time or even morning/evening or anything in between. The wide dispersion brew head promotes even saturation of coffee grounds for maximum extraction of flavor. When brewing smaller pots, press the Aroma button to slow down the brewing process and avoid those watery pots of coffee. For your convenience, you can also set the Krups KM8105 to automatically shut off the hot plate 1, 2, or 3 hours after brewing is complete.
Front Loading Coffee Drawer
The Krups KM8105 offers easy access to the brewing chamber with its convenient pull-out front door. The magnetic lock ensures that the drawer stays in place when removing the carafe, while a gentle pull on the soft touch handle easily opens the drawer for a quick change of the filter. The Pause and Serve valve allows you to remove the 12-cup (60 ounce) glass carafe to pour a cup or two while the KM8105 is still brewing. And the integrated cord storage allows you to neatly stow away the KM8105.
Removable Tank and Water Filtration
Enjoy hassle free refilling with the Krups KM8105 and its removable water tank. With an integrated folding handle, the water tank lifts out and transports easily for filling. Also included with the Krups KM8105 is the Krups Duo Filter system. This replaceable filter is a combination of both charcoal and resin which means that it removes chlorine, impurities, and water harness-causing minerals. So not only will your water, and thus coffee, taste better, but the Krups Duo Filter will also protect your KM8105 from damaging limescale build-up.
Easy to Clean
The Krups KM8105 features an auto-lift brew basket for quick removal of paper filters or optional gold-tone filters. The non-stick hot plate, once it cools, cleans with a simple wipe of a damp cloth.
