Baratza engineers designed the Vario knowing that no other feature would be of use if the grinding burrs were not up to par. Baratza lays the foundation for a fantastic grinder with 54 mm Mahlkönig Ceramic Flat Burrs. Not only will this highly advanced burr set last twice as long as comparable steel burrs, but it is also sharper. The Vario will transfer significantly less heat to your gourmet coffee beans, further preserving their delicate aromas. Additionally, the 54mm diameter of the Vario's burrs allow it to grind more coffee in the same amount of time than any other grinder in its class, up to 1.9 grams per second.
Dual Cam Grinder Fineness Adjustment
The Vario, thankfully, is much easier to use than this title sounds, and this has got to be the most amazing innovation we have seen lately for any variety of coffee equipment. Dual Cam, macro/micro, adjustment means that you can dial in the perfect grind setting in the same manner as you bring a microscope into focus. The arm on the left side of the Vario is the macro adjustment that lets you choose the type of grind from espresso to coarse. Each click on the slide represents a range that can be adjusted even more precisely using the arm on the right side of the grinder. With this method, the Vario offers an unprecedented level of control and reference coupled with the smallest possible increments from each of the 230 settings to the next. Additionally, these Baratza Varios include the secondary calibration screw located behind the ground coffee discharge chute. Using a 2 mm Allen wrench, you can fine tune your Baratza Vario to a true zero point for the ultimate adjustment capabilities of any home grinder.

With 3 programmable grind buttons, you can set the time for all of your favorite coffee preparations down to the tenth of a second for consistent quantities every time you grind. Powerful Motor And Quiet Belt Drive
Those massive commercial grade burrs on the Vario are powered by employs a high torque DC motor and an ultra-quiet belt-drive transmission. The German timing belt provides important thermal isolation of motor and burrs. This results in not only in cool, quiet operation but also a longer lifespan than gear reduction drives. The Baratza Vario comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty. Baratza offers two-tiered support via email or phone.
